Antique Indian gilt bronze statue sculpture of Shiva in the form of Nataraja, the Lord of Dance, performing the cosmic dance of creation encircled by a ring of flames / prabhamandala, he squashes Apasmara, the dwarf demon of ignorance beneath his foot, Siva adorned with bracelets, necklaces, and a headdress with snakes; his back right hand holds an hourglass-shaped drum / damaru, his front right hand in the abhaya / fear-not mudra, and he holds agni / fire in his back left palm; perched upon a lotus atop a rectangular base, late 19th or early 20th century.
